Chair Yoga/Qigong Class at LCI Pineville

This class is a combination of slow and gentle Chair Yoga and Qigong (similar to Tai Chi) movements that focus on relieving fatigue, physical pain and mental tension that often accompany cancer treatments and side effects. The poses are done while seated or standing next to a chair and using it for balance and support. It is a safe and effective way to exercise that strengthens bones and improves flexibility, coordination, circulation, and posture. We also practice a brief meditation to begin and end each class and learn coping skills to help calm the mind from distracting thoughts, relieve stress, and promote a more restful night’s sleep. These free classes are also an opportunity for participants to get to know one another for friendship and support.
